Small bark section removed 1 foot from ground.

Sol is not the problem unless it has honey fungus, I do not think poor drainage would not cause that problem.

I started pruning the trees this morning...

What is interesting is the root in this ...

I have increased frequency to daily just in case - since Thursday.
