For the last two weeks i have ripe ones , first to ripen for me were Sungold closely followed by Gardeners Delight , small glass house in Mayo.

Yes it's Florence Fennel, the problem is i see info saying don't plant it near pretty much anything, then some say keep it away from peas/beans only and like your book i have seen books not saying any ...

There has to be some control , i agree with medieval knievel about the Ash trees, we control livestock for the same reasons.
