hi there gerardkeogh, welcome to the site. Doesn't the bird-watching add a whole new dimension to gardening?
Try this website: http://www.birdwatchireland.ie/
You can even become a member, and doing the winter bird survey for them is fantastic fun...Dec-March each year and you find you'll see all sorts of birds you never realised were in your garden...especially if you put feeders out.
I just love counting the birds every winter now,
I will never forget the first time I saw a sparrowhawk in my garden in suburban Dublin. And we have them here in Wexford too, now we've moved out of Dublin.
But a peregrine falcon is something else altogether.......
I once saw one hovering in Blackrock and someone told me they were nesting in Dalkey quarry. I wonder where yours came from.......
Enjoy them all! |
