Does anyone know whether the tropical shrub "allamanda" would be suitable to grow in a conservatory, and if grown indoors, is it prone to whitefly?

It will do very well in a conservatory of the right type. Unfortunately venting is never placed in ideal positions. As I'm sure you know, conservatories are heat traps, venting should be in the highest point and lowest point to circulate fresh air. Roof vents seldom seem to be put in though for some reason. The result is usually hot, dry air, perfect for Red Spider Mite and White fly. Hose the plant all over a couple of times per day, especially in hot weather.
