Hi,
just having some final work done on my new lawn, earth moved and kerbing etc.. Most of its been burned off, harrowed and is ready to seed. Theres some adjacent land getting seeded for agricultural use and the contractor accidentally seeded a wide strip on my lawn. I expect to have a guy in with a stone burier in the next few weeks to put the finishing touches to my lawn as all the work to date was done by a ocal farmer. problem is, I dont want that agricultural seed sprouting and coming up with my lawn seed. Should I spray it ? If so when? Can I spray it straight away? how long will I then have to wait to sow the lawn seed?

late reply, no safe way of dealing with seed already sown. wait for grass seed to grow then either rotovate it out or harrow it or treat it with a contact or systemic weedkiller. if the lawn you want is a rough one then the grass already sown might do.however agricultural grasses are bred specially for their ability to regrow and produce big volumes of foliage in a short time.
