If the tree is in a pot or a bag of soil you can plant it anytime. Search this site with the google facility and it'll tell you how to do it. If it is 'bare-rooted' now is a perfect time to put in a new tree. Welcome to Irish Gardeners. I love people who love trees. _________________ Retired trouble-maker twitters@walltoall makes ends meet by burning candles at both ends. |

Trees don't have calanders. Pot grown, anytime but the later you leave them the more care they need. Bare root, before the sap starts rising.
Having said that, with lots of care I've succesfully planted bare-root trees in June, well, transplanted.

Thanks the ones i am talking about are the ones you buy in quantity from the Forestry people or Nursery's. I was thinking of planting some Spruce and Ash for firewood in the future.
I did this about 10-12 years ago and have great trees now but i just wondered when the latest time was. |
