Yesterday I had a sparrow-hawk perch on the wall for a couple of minutes. Most days I get at least one ring-necked parrot overhead, sometimes as many as six, but never in the garden. Haven't seen 'my' hedgehog for a couple of weeks! Would he be bedding down? We get the odd house sparrow but no nesters. We get starlings every day, wood pigeon and magpies most days, robin, wren, blackbird on and off and once only I saw a dunnock but its a while now. I have a regular nocturnal fox recycling scraps and doing some plate cleaning. It's always the same guy. He never comes in the garden though because I've marked my boundaries a few times. I leave the plates just outside under a bush. He doesn't like brocolli, but does carrot and also parsnip ok. He will also do roast potato but not boiled or mash (unless its with home made gravy). But anything meaty is fine.

I love your description of the Fox, he sounds great!
My Dad also has a fox that sleeps in the corner of his garden.
I reckon he comes around for the cat food that's left out.
He does look lovely napping away in the corner.
