Hi all,
So our kids found this guy yesterday?
Is it a pigeon??
Left on water butt & had hoped fly away but didn't...doesn't seem to be injured but can't fly. Kept in box in empty chicken coop overnight and v alert today.
No idea what to do with it!

Hi Greengage,
I would have left it but the kids [and puppy] got there first...should we just put her back down among the tree and leave her alone - so many cats around here, only one of which is ours that I'll keep in]

A pigeon alright, a squab to be precise. If its injured nature will take its course unfortunately.

Ok its against my nature to be nice when people pick up wild animals they should be left alone but as a once off feed her milk and bread well soaked for a few days if she lives, then buy some bird food with larger seed and give her water, if she does not eat the bread and milk you will have to force feed her but remember you could kill it and i dont want that on my conscience but if it wont eat and you do nothing it will die anyway. it looks healthy and alert. Your decision.
