| hi,i have a problem with my 3 cats, they are sharpening their claws on my new willow tree`s,i thought of smearing honey on the bark but dh pointed out that the wasps would be delighted with this, and i have thought of getting wire fencing to put round them,is there a product or deterrent i could buy? |

| Put a hoop of chicken wire netting around the trunk and support it with a few bamboo canes stuck through the netting into the ground. It worked for me. |

I am pleased to hear that the chicken wire has stopped you sharpening your claws Sandra12.......
The wire sounds like the best solution. If you want a temporary one then you can use citrus oil on areas you don’t want the cats to scratch, they have a strong sense of smell and it puts them off. Some also put chile oil on,but that's just mean....
Cheers
