I have several hollies and picking up the leaves is becoming a chore. I pick them up with the lawn mower and did so only last Wednesday and you can see what has fallen since. This is happening all the time to all the hollies yet none of them look bare. What is going on here?

Normal replacing leaves just because its evergreen does not mean it will have the same leaves for ever.

Definitely not the norm. The rate of leaf fall has significantly increased of late. I'm putting it down to the heatwave.

After the storm earlier this week it looks like Autumn in our drive. A combination of dry weather then high winds have bought down a heck of a lot of leaves.
Actually a bit worried about the amount of new growth that has blown off the fir trees, most of this years new growth.
Hope your hollies are not affected that much!

This is an annual thing, just seems to be moreso this year.

Deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn. Evergreens do a partial leaf-replacement in the summer. I have a big bay tree that shed loads of leaves in July. It’s very healthy.
