sorry for the poor photo but it was all i had - i know it's not a crocosmia as i have those in the garden - this was more like a grass which turned red/yellow/brown in autumn - again sorry for the lack of photos...

Are the leaves V shaped? If so, how deep is the V? Day lily leaves tend to come out of the ground almost folded in half, Agapanthus less so. Also Agapanthus leaves are more fleshy than Hemerocallis. We'll get there!

I have the golden version but mine doesn't grow so upright. Lovely Autumn colour and a great edging to soften a path.
