Daffodils are in flower in Croppys acre Dublin, I also saw a post on facebook where they are in flower in some peoples gardens in other parts of Ireland.

Same here Margo, lovely day! It's very had not to start 'proper' gardening on a day like this - good job I was shopping in Enniskillen.
Still no daffs here, but the hellebores are lovely this year.

A short while ago we had a lake where the drive is, a paddy field that was once a lawn and the infamous 'Blaney' had it's lake. We drove through Blaney today - the lake has gone! The garden is dry too.
I wonder if we WILL get the 'Beast from the East', or a damp squibb like 'The Barbecue Summer' - remember that one?

Now I haven't heard that one before, the BBQ summer. Was that the year of the ladybird population explosion?

No, it was just one of the wettest on record. Just like the 'warmer than usual winter' turned out to be one of the coldest and the 'drier than usual winter' left everywhere flooded!

When it comes to Met Office predictions, it is hard NOT to be sarcastic.
How are the daffs this morning? Our 'February Gold' ones are JUST coming into bloom - on the last day of February.

I hear the Met Office - I LISTEN to Met Eireann! They make far more sense.
