First sampling of tomato fruit today, not perfect shape but very good tasting indeed - seedless, mild and soft flesh. variety Anna Russian, sown on 11th of March, seeds bought from eBay - very poor germination rate 1/3.

This year I bought 10 'Sakura' tomato plants from DT Brown. I have had them before and they are lovely, sweet large cherry toms. Mine are always a little late as the greenhouse is on the west side of a large hedge and doesn't get sun until midday.
I have quite a few tiny toms but no ripe ones yet. I am going to try Epsom salts in with their usual feed. I experimented with it last year and seemed to get sweeter fruit as a result. Might try five with and five without.

Well done, when did you plant them.
I have 6 gardeners delight vines in my greenhouse that I just topped off at 5 trusses yesterday. There are a good few green fruits but I won't be sampling for a number of weeks yet.

I have 15 plants in the greenhouse, 7 different varieties. Picked the first two fruits only this week, loads more to follow.

Wexford is always top of the class, I have to wait at least a fortnight for a taste if we get sun.
On the other hand my ORGANIC (no spray) Orla spuds are delicious.

Oh Lius, don't encourage him! I was going to say something along the same lines (he must be getting more sun than us, my tomatoes are a few weeks off ripening too. But don't tell him that )

You just did. Way better down south.
PS I seen your laments on your Fermanagh monsoon season in June. Could be worse as you could be living in Donegal.

Just watered the tomatoes. Might not be that long before we get to sample them.

Looking good so far. This variety is Red Cherry and is cropping well. Albeit slightly out of focus.
