Hi all,
New garden (one acre) and we have recently planted approx 25 trees at the front of the site. Beech, birch and oak. The ground is pretty heavy around them and we also have a stream snaking through to a pond at the end. I am wondering what types of shrubs would be good to plant? Many thanks.
John
Ps I have ideas for the pond and have started to plant around it. |

Acidic soil or alkaline soil?
Japanese Laurel would be good. Never gets out of control unlike ordinary Laurel and stays a nicer colour in shade. Suppresses weeds.

Thanks guys, the soil is acidic.
I am not sure the size of the photo I was uploading but will try one under the 1mb limit.
I am trying to load a photo from an iPad if that makes any difference? |
