I'm pretty certain I bought and planted Allium Purple Sensation in the autumn. These bulbs are flowering now but they don't look like purple sensation (from googling)

Could it maybe have been in the ground from a Hyacinth planted years ago.
Maybe your Allium have still to emerge.It is still early.

I don't think so, planted a dozen bulbs and most of them are up |

That's definitely a (scrawny) Hyacinth. Did you buy the bulbs loose or pre-packed? Are the other green leaves, behind it, the Alliums?

I think you may be right actually Sue, i had a look at the other bulbs and their foliage is different to the Hyacinth and there's no flower stalk (yet). Must have been one Hyacinth amongst the Alliums
