In conversation with an American lady the other day, we got on to gardening and she pronounced that, if you have a special crop that you want to protect from slug damage, simply sow a thin row of cheap radish seed all around it. Obviously, the size of the area involved will have a bearing on it but, apparently, the principle is that the slugs will mullah the radishes but NEVER get through to the prize crop.
I leave it for your deliberation - Tagwex, I've ordered you 3cwt of radish seed! _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |
