That's funny, there used to be a whole load of different coloured broom around a car park near where I lived. I suppose there was not much of a scent per plant, but all together it was so overpowering it made me sneeze!

My Mums one had a real heavy scent. I bought this one on a boot sale in Cornwall. So I don't know the background. Its never bloomed as heavy as it has this year though.

My dad, who was a keen and skilful home-brewer, used to make a lovel fragrant white wine from gorse.
