Hi

I've just been given a plant as a gift, the label says 'Ribes' but nothing else. Is this plant purely decorative or does it fruit? How big does it grow?

Many thanks

Could be either or both.

Depends on the species, and then again on the variety/cultivar.

Ribes would be the Genus name.
The genus or generic name is always Latin, and is the first of the two names in the scientific name (the second is the species).
Eleven pages of Ribes species here for example.

Any chance of a picture Rebecca, or any further info to aid in the quest/
