Hello everyone,
just signed up here. I've been a lurker on here for a while and gleaned some great advice from you experts.
Looking forward to being a member now and hope I don't annoy anyone too much if I ask a stupid question!
Just starting to get into gardening now that I have a bit more time.
Thanks for having me. |

Welcome, seanc2. I hope you enjoy your time on here as much as I have, and learn as much, too. |

Hello Sean and welcome. Don't be afraid to ask questions - that's how we ALL learn. _________________ Be humble, for you are made of earth

Hi and welcome. Give us a rundown of your garden and what your plans are. _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. I dug the rocks out of it with my bare hands and I made a living thing of it!”

Hi, Sean! I'm not sure we all deserve the title of 'experts' but we all enjoy our plots and pass on what we've discovered to anyone who's prepared to listen. My only piece of advice is to not be afraid to buck convention. Don't be afraid to ignore the fads that so many people fall for.
If you find yourself in a garden centre, bear in mind an old saying from the world of angling - 'fishing tackle catches more fishermen than fish' - and shop accordingly. At one time one could jump on one's bike and go for a ride in whatever you were wearing at the time - today that's impossible without a brightly coloured lycra suit and shoes you can't walk in.
With that in mind, enjoy. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |
