Perforated stone

I have ths architectural stone that I rescued from a site. Its rectangular in shape but with a recessed oval in the centre and three holes going all the way through. I'am thinking this would make an ideal water feature, with a small fountain spurting through the centre and draining through the other two holes, but not having done before I'am totally in the dark.

How would I construct such a thing, what would I need and how would I build it ? Would I just need a reservoir and pump for example ?

The only photos I have currently until I get home and do it properly are these. They are blow up of the stone taken on the site I was working on in Roscommon. It measures approx 0.7m x 0.5m to c.20cm depth and is very heavy. Although you can't see them there are three holes in the oval shaped perforation at the bottom, so the stone could have been used as a drain from a water spout / drinking fountain or drainpipe ?

The simplest method is to only allow water out of one hole and block the other two.
Then place the feature stone on a rock reservoir and feed a flexible hose from pump in reservoir through hole in feature stone. The water then fills the hollow of stone and cascades over sides into reservoir and back again.
