Just to get back on topic, for a moment:
One tree I forgot to mention is the native Irish cherry, an gean. It has attractive bark, white flowers, fruit the birds love. There are some in a hedge near me and I decided to plant one on my boundary. It will eventually make a good-sized tree. They are best located to the north of a site so that the sun catches the foliage/flowers, when you are looking at them.

Aye, it's Prunus avium. It is the ancestor of the edible varieties we grow today. The fruits are sweet, but small. It can either grow as a large spreading tree (40' wide and high) or as a forest canopy tree. I know of several near me that are 80' high with a DBH (diameter at breast height) of 2' . The Bird Cherry is Prunus padus (how's that for confusing!), which has small bitter fruits only suitable for birds. It grows much smaller, but is still a medium sized tree (25-30' high and wide).

Thanks Ado. If I had room to plant one, I'd plant P. padus. Those long racemes. Early, upside down lunchboxes of nectar, reminiscent of tiny Wisteria. Slow growing, and medium sized. I'd want at least 50' diameter free terminal space if planting in open ground though.

Some good advice for you Mr Quinn snatched from another thread authored by the resident tree expert Tippben.

Would anyone happen to know what these trees are? I drive past them every day and think they look lovely. But have no idea what they are. Now this picture is a little older from Google maps as they look a lot better, a little taller and better kept in real time as of today! They are lined along the City West intersection over the N7 if that makes it more specific!
Thanks all!!

Hornbeam???? Not sure though. Pictures need to be close ups if you can get them.

City west crossing the N7 Then they are Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) evergren trees.
Keep an eye out for the Cowslips growing on the roadside margins hope they council or maintenance contractors dont get a rush of blood to the head and start cutting.
