Don't think the poppy is native Just think it's been there a long time and it's seeds scatter So therefore more plants. Question .., have you only recently acquired this garden ?

I thought I recognised the Datura. Years ago I was given a book about 'herbs'. But this is not a book about what herbs go well with chicken, it is all about their medicinal properties.
All I will say is BE VERY CAREFUL with this plant. Silver surfer is right, it is very toxic. Wear gloves and do not let any of the sap touch your skin. It contains the same tropane alkaloids as Henbane and Belladonna!
The poppy IS an Opium Poppy, but don't get too excited, it is a cultivated garden variety. I used to have them in my garden in England. I don't know where it came from but once I had it, I had it for good - the tiny seeds get fired everywhere, very pretty.
I think 3 IS a phlox, but I was hoping Silver Surfer would know what variety ' cos I saw something similar yesterday and have not seen that colour before.
5 and 6 - I know the name but have never seen one.
