Hey all,

Quick question: I planted 4 chitted potatoes in the bottom of an old compost bag, which I have rolled down, to about 10 inches (I plan to roll up and plant up as they grow). So about a week ago, all the potatoes had sprouted and have 5-7 leafs formed.

But my potatoes seem to be imune to gravity Wink LOTS of "sprouts" have started to grow upwards! and some are now forming leafs! There are now 3-5 sprouts per potato petruding from the surface quite close together.

I suspect that this might have happened because I planted them in too little soil? Is there anything I can do? Should I cut the weakest looking ones off, to leave the best sprout per potato? If so, how far sown should I go?
Would I be better revoming 2 of the the full potatoes and leave all sprouts to form plants?

Thanks for your time,

D

The many sprouts are nothing to worry about daithi. No action needed
just do as you planned when the time comes ie.roll up bags and plant up as they grow.
