HI there, I've been growing alpine strawberries for the last three years and I love them. They are very reliable fruiters in my experience. They aren't quite as nice as real strawberries I think but they are still yummy and they just keep coming for months, so this definitely compensates
They are less prone to slug destruction. I've some pictures of what the fruit look like etc on my blog if you want to have a look. I'd love to know how you get on with them. Good luck _________________ Growing fruit in containers - www.potsoffruit.com |

Has anyone had luck growing strawberries from seed? When should you sow them (is there still time?), how long does it take and will they fruit in the first year? |

| my alpine strawberries seed profusely - i've supplied loads of small plants to friends grown from their seed. and they all survived the winter, unlike my regular strawberries. |

| Thanks for the info. Have 20/30 plants growing from seed. I plan to sow them into a Strawberry tub. I will let you know how they get on. |
