Trees for alkaline soil

Hi all,

First post here. Would be grateful if anyone could recommend suitable medium sized trees to grow in alkaline soil. I want to plant a few along each side of the driveway (100 foot long), they would be well spaced apart but I don't want them to grow too big, maybe 12-15 foot max in height. They should also have colourful leaves. i.e. not just green. Thanks.

My first thoughts would be purple leafed crabapples such as Malus 'Royalty' or Malus × purpurea 'Neville Copeman'
