I saw a picture recently of the back wall in someones garden. It was covered in some "brown cloth-like fabric" - best way to describe it.
Does anyone know the picture and what it is that is covering the wall.

Looks like a reed screen to me, which can be ordered from most garden centres.
That pic was posted by member inishindie, I will PM him and see what I can find out. |

Hi Just the one
I took that photo in England. Near Grantham to be exact. The screens are common in the garden supply shops. Some last longer that others and some are more expensive than others too!!
The one you are thinking of will probably be the heather thatch. It looks like fabric. Among others there are also bamboo, reeds and willow.
If you are feeling adventurous why not try making a willow screen yourself? Get the straight shoots in the dormant season and get weaving! ..hazel works too
Brendan Farren, from Inishowen makes great willow fences.
If you wanted to be adventurous and put the screen closer to the viewer, how about this idea!
Type in garden screening Heather - into google to see what comes up!

What did you want this covering for? Are you thinking of growing something up it or is it going to be a feature?

nothing too exciting - I saw a picture of it on this site last week and now cannot find it again... it was just a way of covering a block wall atend of garden.. |
