Not my cup of tea at all. Its a bit like the Chelsea Show every year they have the best in the show, and its usually concrete and a water feature and their a winner.
I'm old fashioned and I'm afraid I like grass, flowers and veg. |

I'm with you on this one, Margo, "jungle"gardens do nothing for me. I can understand the challenge of them, but ultimately they look "forced" and unnatural.
And yes, folks, I know we all use plants that have come from S.Africa etc etc and aren't native, but for me some plants look at home here, and others just don't. |

There are three Irish gardens coming up next week (30/1/15.} at 8pm on Sky 1. The title of the show is "Show me your garden."
One of them is a bit jungly.
This programme should be worth watching. The three gardens are in the Peoples' Republic of Cork. _________________ .

I really like all the foliage. Reminds me of paintings by the Douanier Rousseau that I studied at college. I like to use lots of foliage in my own garden.
The garden as a whole seems a bit OTT for my taste, and I like to be able to see out of a garden to relate it to the land/townscape.
But you have to hand it to them for dedication, skill, presentation etc. I'd like to visit it for real. |

Did anyone see the programme on Sky One last night with the 3 Irish gardens?
Bruno Nicolai deservedly romped away with the Golden Trowel. Very lush, very tropical garden at the back of a semi-detached. The judges couldn't find one weed! If he wants any, I've plenty in mine. _________________ .

No TV here, but I've read a lot about Bruno's garden, sounds like a plantsman's garden, making the very best use of a limited site, no mean feat.
I've just noticed the link to your garden pictures on your signature KS, Wow, it really is stunning. |
