I have bought a Ficus plant for the kitchen. It says to Much light and water well. Its in the corner under a TV but is right oposite the patio door so is getting plenty of light.

My problem is that it is shedding leaves like theres no tomorrow! If its the time of year and to be expected i will cope but just worried that i'm doing something wrong. There seems to be plenty of new leaves coming and it looks healthy enough!

Any advise / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

5 / 6 weeks ago. it had a few dead leaves on it when i bought it (stilly idea to buy its perhaps???) and has generally been shedding since. Thought once i got it home and gave it a good watering it would improve as the other leaves seemed very healthy. i also water my plants by leaving them sit in water until the soil is moist. Could this be a problem?

Ficus hate disturbance, they want the same temperature, lighting and water all year round. When they do not get this they tell you by dropping leaves. Your one was moved to the shop, dropped a few leaves, then moved to your kitchen, dropped a few more.
But as you said there are plenty of new leaves coming. These will stay as long as nothing major changes again, hopefully no cold breezes coming in everytime the patio door opens. Wink
On watering, let it dry out slightly between waterings. Leaving them to sit in water until the soil is moist (moist only not saturated) should not be a problem, provided its not for more than a short time.
