I am fairly new to gardening so any advice is greatly appreciated, my father just bought me a lot of very cheap dahlia tubers, they seem to be in excellent condition. I would like to know if there is anything I can do with them?
Is it to late to plant them in the ground?
Should I start them in pots and store in the garage for now?

I really just want to give the bulbs a good chance to grow next summer, but is it possible this late in the season?

Its a bit late to put them in the ground. It might be advisable to put them in pots and see how they go. You have a couple of months for them to grow. Plus as they are in pots you can bring them in later in the season

Thank you for your reply, it's been very hard to find any information on growing dahlias late in the season, I'll give it a go, fingers crossed they grow for me.

Pending on how fast they grow you might get a bloom. Time to take them in is when the foliage starts to go black. That means there are frosts around and best put somewhere dry. Personally I would keep them in the pots. Its never done my tubers any harm.
