They never wither, my Cordeline and Pampus grass.

Hello,I'm wondering if someone can tell me what to do with the dead leaves of my Cordeline and Pampus grass.They never wither.

Yes they take an extremely long time to break down naturally, so you will have to remove the dead leaves yourself with a sharp pair of garden clippers.
Don't forget to wear a good pair of gloves, long sleeved top and trousers as the leaves on the pampas grass are razor sharp.

Some further interesting talk about pampas grass burning about half way down this topic.... Rats in compost and pampas.

For a clean stem Cordyline, do the following...... lightly pull at the dead leaves, If they do not come off easily, you can cut them off close to the trunk using a sharpened secateurs or garden clippers.

Thank you GPI for replying.I know how to remove them and you are right about wearing long sleeves and gloves,I learned the hard way.Mainly what I need to know is how to dispose of them.I have a very large garden and end up every year with a lot of waste. I have considered a compost heap ( dont know the first about one) but I think I might have too much lawn- cutting.Our lawn is about 1 eight of an acre. Any advice is welcome. Confused
