I have a friend who is looking for some really big evergreen shrubs for creating privacy from a new house being built next door. She is looking to plant plants about 12-15' high. She is exposed and gets some salt spray. If no suitable evergreens what do people suggest?

I shrubs I suggest the salt resistant Elaeagnus x ebbingei 'Gilt Edge', it has white flowers in Autumn, and green and yellow evergreen leaves. Also mention Golden privet (Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' ) to your friend. It has white flowers in Summer, and green and yellow semi-evergreen leaves.
Common English laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) might also be an option.
