Hi there,

My plastic arrived and I am waiting for a windless day to put up my tunnel, all the groundwork is done, trenches dug, frame in place,

I don't remember so well anymore where to start putting on the plastic, do i start from the middle, or at one of the corners?

There's two ways of putting the plastic on, either way you'll need at least two people to help you.
First way is to unroll the sheet along the ground at one side of the frame, then pull it up over the hoops aided by step ladders, soft brooms, etc.,
Second way, put roll of plastic on a bar on trestles at one end of frame, then pull it along over centre top of hoops, then it will unfold from centre outwards and down.
After tensioning end to end between door frames, start burying edges from middle, alternating each side, out to ends.
Try getting a copy of Bernard Salt's book, Gardening Under Plastic; it has good clear instructions; my own tunnel came from Allens of Allenbridge, Cork (second-hand) and they kindly faxed me their instructions 029 60000.

Thanks geo, i got the plastic up and it look quite alright, i had help and it was done in 2 hours, waiting now for the first storm to see if it will hold, fingers crossed!
