Hi there,

I've just joined the site today. I've been using the BBC garden forum but i'm glad to have found a site with a more Irish focus, it's just handier for suppliers and weather related issues etc.

Although I only have a very small back garden I just love all things garden related. I have two 3 x 8 ft veg patches and the same again for ornamentals.
Not sure if this link will work...this is the garden in May last year.

If you want to see your garden images directly within your post you can do the following in flickr....

To get the URL of the actual image file, find the photo you want to use. Click the "All Sizes" button above it and select the size you want. If the photo is yours, two text fields appear below the photo. The first contains a snippet of HTML that will produce the photo on your web site, with a link back to the photo page on Flickr. The second contains the URL of the image itself. Simply copy and paste the one into where you are creating your post

Simply copy the address of the image into the area where you are creating your post e.g.http://www.flickr.com/photos/132375_0ca82ae31e.jpg
and place the text [img] before it and the text [/img] after it.

See how you get on.

GPI thanks for the tip, that seems to have worked for individual files but is it ok to post the original link to view "sets"?

You a certainly making the best use of a small back garden. I see you have a small green house and a delightful lilac lily by the looks of it. How did you find the small greenhouse for your needs?

Hi Sb,

that's a lilac bearded iris (crap phone picture) that my brother donated when i dug over my patch. It was originally just a patch of weeds and a big ash tree growing out from under the wall that shaded everything out.

The small greenhouse (2ft d x 4ft w) was a godsend for seeds as my windowsills are usually stuffed full! but it wasn't great for the chillis as i could only fit about 3 large plants in. It actually blew away a couple of weeks ago and smashed to smitheens so I moved the shed (my husband thinks I'm bonkers)and put a 4x6 there instead. Do you have a greenhouse yourself?

Ah sure all our other halves think we are bonkers, sure I even talk to my plants. . What kind of glass has your 4x6 fuinnseog, as there was someone on here recently asking about the pros and cons of plastic vs traditional glass?

It's just a plastic 4x6 actually. When i say the small one smashed it was all the plastic joining bits that smashed and not the glass...but i couldnt put it back together again
I'm sure glass is better and looks nicer too but far more expensive unless you are handy enough to build your own. The plastic 6x4 was only €75, pretty good bargain i thought!
