Nah...here in Sligo we have the whole flippin Family...from Daddies-Mammies- Sons-Daughters etc...its to do with the Weather being so mild...I've never seen such an assortment of Insects before of all shapes and sizes.
According to the experts in years to come we are going to see more and more of these and it all has to do with Climate Change...  |

Inundated with them here in Wexford too, I catch and throw out a double figure number of them every evening. _________________ “It’s my field. It’s my child. I nursed it. I nourished it. I saw to its every want. I dug the rocks out of it with my bare hands and I made a living thing of it!”

I live next door to a hurling pitch, and many cattle fields. I kill the larvae when I find them, but have given up on the adults. If I were foolish enough to try and kill them too, it'd be a bit like the Edward Lear thing about the woman who rakes the beach flat every time the tide goes out. Lucky woman. She'd have got 12 hours rest... |
