having problem with loading pic, but saw the above today when cutting grass, thought |i cut some tissue and when I looked behind this is what I saw, didn't think he would stay as I raced off to get camera, could live to be a thousand and may never see this again.

A female I think as the male is smaller and not as impressive-looking.......a wonderful photo, thank you for posting it.
What is the bird that she is eating...is it a pigeon ?
I have enjoyed many sightings of sparrowhawks in our own garden.....inevitable I suppose as we have many feeders, but I'm philosophical about the odd victim.....it's the natural cycle of life.
A beautiful bird......
