I sowed loads of Aquilegias, but they germinated very erratically, so that some are now quite large and others are just getting their first set of true leaves. The bigger ones are already in the ground, but I was just wondering is it too late to plant the smaller ones out now? Will they make it through the winter? _________________ I google, I buy, I plant - it dies |

Any aquilegia seedlings in my garden seem tough to the point of indestructiblity. At this stage they are all self-sown, so have adapted themselves to my conditions.
If you have any doubts about yours, plant them out in a few different spots and mind them carefully for a few weeks.. The majority of them should do fine. |

Thanks for the replies! The seedlings are thriving in their new spot. Can I ask a question, there's fluffy seed pods on my lupines, if I crack them open and scatter the seeds inside will they just grow - or will I have to put a bit more effort in than that? _________________ I google, I buy, I plant - it dies |

Lupins usually have hard black seeds and yes they will grow dont allow them to flower the first season. |
