There is a guelder rose i want to take cutings from now becaus ethe housewhere it is is for sale

says "soft-wood cuttings in early summer in a cold frame or pot and plastic bag method. "
Is it too late for that? What is the plastic bag method? |

Then dig it up anyway, and hope for the best. Water it well, take a massive rootball, and replant immediately. It won't like it, but will PROBABLY survive. You could try semi hardwood cuttings at the same time. |

If the plant is quite large it would be good to prune to reduce the amount of foliage. This will result in less loss of water if you follow tippben's advice and transplant it. That's what I'd do, anyway. |
