Does anybody have horse chestnut conkers whos willing to give about 4 of them to me? I badly want to grow horse chestnuts. Could you give me instructions with the conkers and how to plant the seeds? Give them to me whenever you have them or when they are ready to be collected. But it would be great if you have them now but I dont mind.

Collect them in the autumn when they've fallen off the Horse Chestnut trees.
Poke 'em into the ground and they won't fail to grow. _________________ .

Olwas; conkers are very easy to collect; i'm just wondering if there is a reason why you are unable to collect them yourself? i'm sure that if there is, someone would be happy to help. |

Stradbally... There will be Horse Chestnut trees further inland from you, towards Killarney. The fact that they are so ubiquitous, and yet you have none near you doesn't bode well for growing them, but try anyway. Stradbally is so exposed to salt winds, that I'd expect them to suffer very badly burned leaves: they often get wind scorch in the summer even without the salt. |
