thanks barry for the web site but they dont sell loys hopefully i will be getting one made in the summer so it should be ready for making ridges on new ground foe potatoes

Number 2 is common in Cork.

This is totally different, is a hoe rather than a spade, but it's for ridging:

The loy doesn't seem all that easy to use. This was a competition at Ballyboy Co Offaly in 2007.

Indeed. I can see how this has died out. The one-eared kerry spade is nothing like this.
