Hi there,
Got an odd one (to me). One of my tomato plants has started growing teeth along the stem. The plant is about five feet high and they begin about halfway up continuing all the way to the top.
It's only one of ten plants that is doing this. Any idea what it is, and why it would be happening?
Cheers
Kieran. |

Some of mine started doing this. It is trying to send out roots, why I dont know. Was thinking maybe the plant isnt well suported and it is trying to anchor itself? Just a theory. Or maybe it wants more food/water? Or just a weird reaction to the weather? |

very good description for these aerial roots. They usually indicate that the main roots are affected by disease and the plant is sending out roots to get food and water. It helps to put a mulch of compost 2 inches deep to encourage root development.

Thanks for the responses guys. Will check out the roots and get some compost around them.
