I watched part of a gardening programme with Alan Titchmarsh on UTV last night and he visited a garden called Veddw House Gardens in Monmouthshire in Wales and there was something special about the little of it I saw on the screen. I was surprised I had never heard of it as it looks so beautiful. Has anyone on the forum visited it? I thought the sinuous hedges were magnificent. There are lots of photos on their website: http://veddw.com/ |

That's in a beautiful area near Tintern Abbey.
They're a bit controversial as in this clip from their site.
"If I were a garden designer I would be a bit miffed by the fact that every list of iconic or outstanding contemporary gardens comprises special places which have, in most cases, been created by people who are not professional garden designers.
Jarman, Jencks, Finlay, Strong/Oman at The Laskett and Wareham/Hawes at Veddw - all of these have been made by individuals who have come to gardens or landscape relatively late in life via other artistic disciplines or interests.
Tim Richardson, Garden Design Journal, April 2008"
But nothing wrong at all with being controversial.
I do like their television room though. Brilliant! _________________ .
