dose everyone spray there spuds for blight?? this is m 3rd year growing veg. first year i did spray them but last year i didnt and they were grand no blight. iv been grown the same varietys all along golden wonder and british queen? im just wondering cause in considering not spraying again this year. what e think?? |

Did we tell you to spray? NO
Only joking no sign of Blight yet although keep an eye on the weather too wet and windy need Humidity for blight.
Dont worry I never spray because I only grow 5 drills 10m long not 10 Acres.
If Blight is expected this forum will light up as everyone wants to be first with bad news....... |

so if ur only growing a few drills theres no need?? id rather not spray themm to b honest but id hate for them all to rot on me to!! |

It may hit you if the conditions are right (google smith period) and it doesnt matter if you have 1 plant or 1000 plants. Up to the individual if you want to spray or not, you are not breaking any laws! |

I think I've sprayed my earlies three times this year with Dithane, went by Met Eireann warnings twice, and once by gut feeling and coincidentally there was a blight warning the next day. Not going to let all my work rot away in front of my eyes! |

The way the weather is gone, you could get blight and your neighbour down the road might not get it. That's me looking at it. It's always better to be safe than sorry. |
