Total disaster in my garden this year, sowed carrots, parsnips, spring onions, and various salad leaves at the end of March and nothing appeared.
Is it too late now to sow carrots? What else can I sow in the garden? I put down some parsnips seeds last week. Finally have some salad leaves showing. Potatoes (british queens) coming along nicely. Have peas too and they are doing well. Planted out pumpkins today too.
Have 5 raised beds 3 ft x 20ft and a huge 30ft x 30ft (potatoes here)
Any ideas please. |

you can still sow carrots...definitely. spring onion are slow to get going this year.but re-sow and see what happens.
i got a superb crop by sowing late last year.
you could also buy some leeks, cabbage, cauliflower, kale from the local garden centre and transplant now..perfect time really. weather is only starting to pick up at this stage. this morning i sowed a main crop of peas, transplanted my leeks. |

I don't think so. In fact, I think that a lot of people sow too early when it is cold and wet, and the wee seeds died! I think it's better to sow from May onwards. |
