Hi Everybody,
My wife has grown Rhododendrons in the same garden for many years and with no problems. Now my wife has purchased a new Rhododendron from a garden centre in june 2011. This shrub has not grown very well since planted in the garden. I attach a photo. Does she have soil problems in this area of the garden or does it have some disease? Any solutions would be appreciated.

this is hardly a soil problem. This looks like a serious disease that appears to have killed or is killing the shrub. As all the branches appeared to be affected it is probably a systemic or root disease. Lift it out and check whether roots are healthy (white) or diseased (black). If the roots are black then the plant is dead
