Just joined and wanted to say hi. I was given an allotment recently so have been spending my time getting it in shape. I've built a DIY polytunnel and created outdoor raised beds. But haven't had the chance to plant anything yet. Lots to do but loving it so far. I'm sure I'll be looking for lots of advice. I'm in North County Dublin btw.
Thanks!

Thanks Sive. Yes it did. Got paranoid about it and put a bit more bracing up on the 3 middle hoops. Then I got talking to some guys about last winter and the destruction caused by the snow! So need to get me some more 2 x 2's and add a bit more strength.

Dormouse, I hope you don't hibernate for the winter. it's time to get cabbage in. Welcome to the forum from a former fingallian. best of luck with the endeavours in the plot. learn from us and we'll learn from you. teach us and we'll teach you back. if you like taking pictures and can track them through everyone here loves a picture. Since you mentioned SNOW, I'm hoping something from our last [Essex] winter has attached itself to this note.

Brilliant, Dormouse. I can see you're not going to hibernate! And a grand shot of the tunnel and beds. I was here for YEARS before sorting out the picture stuff. There's another bit of wind on the Atlantic at the minute called Phillipa, due up your way next Tues. Wed. but may pass up the middle of the ocean and hammer Iceland instead. It was Ophelia got yiz last week. We even got a bit of her wrath here at N51º30' x E00º30'. the Atlantic hurricane season this year has really active. (it gives up in time for halloween! lol)
