just wondering about green manure what would be the best one to use,and am i to late to use it,and do i plant it and then leave it for the winter and then dig it in come spring time

I used green manure once, rather shocked by the price of the seeds...and then found it quite hard to dig in, in the spring, .....and I sort of lost interest in trying again, but maybe the type I sowed was not the best....it was the only one I could find at the time. Unfortunately I can't remember what it was, so it's not helping you very much ! |

I've used green manure in the past, to mixed results. If the seed is a perennial then it can easliy become invasive. If you don't
have the time to chop it/dig it in at the right time, then it can also be invasive.
Though I am (or was?) a member of the Organic Centre, I'm not trying to promote them here. But it's with them that I bought my green manure.
I found it quite cheap, about €3 for a 1lb bag, ie it comes in qualties much larger than the normal seed packs.
Choose from over-wintering, or Spring/Summer:
