Austin, it could be due to people using Miscanthus as a bioenergy fuel. I can appreciate that visually they look good but people could be experimenting.....  |

I've heard of Miscanthus being used as a Biofuel, but I think its mostly for ornamental uses.
The fashion for grasses I think is catching on from the UK, and many more irish gardeners are using these grasses for great effect in their garden.
Perhaps the most popular of all ornamental grasses - the Pampas is starting to lessen in popularity as more people are opting for the dwarf pampas, and other smaller grasses.
