I noticed today that there are green insects clustered closely together on the upper leaves of my beans. I assume these are aphids. Are they harmful and what can i do to get rid of them? I can't resize my photo, so no picture, sorry |

Broadbeans?
Aphids/black fly love broadbeans and they are arriving on mine too. Time to get spraying with washingup liquid or a spray made up with boiled rhubarb leaves(which kills the buggers stone dead on the spot). |

sirpsycho - Have you made Walltoall aware of your findings on this? He was researching the rhubarb spray. _________________ A novice gardener on newly cultivated, stoney ground. |

Don't quote me but I think if you pinch out the tops of brad beans it stops blackfly. Don't know about runners though. |
