Remove the ties within a month though to prevent cutting the stems.. | it will be able to manage itself within a month?

Quote: | is lonerica serotina a twining honey suckle. it says it is self climbing. which types is self climbing? |
It will have twine around a structure such as trellis or chicken wire to gain height

Many plants can suffer from a bit of transplant shock when moved to a new home.
"some leaves are sort of darkish red or black and one leaf has shrivelled" sounds like this.
Just keep the plant well watered until its roots get established.
A few holes in the leaves from insect bites are to be expected.

You look to have a touch of powdery mildew on your honeysuckle.
This is the powdery white fungal growth appearing as a dusting on leaves, tips of stems and buds. Eventually the foliage distorts, withers and dies.
Follow most of the steps mentioned here in this article on powdery mildew in apple trees , as the same rules apply.

Of course you will need a fair bit more trellis left and right if possible, as the honeysuckle will spread a fair bit. | many thanks. i will be adding trellis

I did not do anything re the mildew and was going to replace it but I have noticed that even though it looks bad to half way up it is climbing rapidy and new leaves are coming out.
