I have largish and fairly irregular holes in the leaves of my aubergine plants (edges undamaged). They are growing in a raised bed in a polytunnel. Strawberries, tomatoes and peppers nearby appear unaffected. The holes seem too large for flea beetles. And if the problem were slugs I imagine nearby plants would also suffer. Any idea what may be causing the problem. And possible solutions?

Hello Aeneas
It would be helpful in the identification and control if you could post up a picture of the plant damage. Liquid derris or derris dust can be used to halt flea beetle attacks if that is what it is.
But it sounds more like slug damage to me. If it is then have a look at this slug control article GPI posted
